Gynecology

Important note about COVID-19

We live in unprecedented times, and our patients’ health is our priority. To protect you and your family, Menlo Medical Clinic follows a rigorous cleaning schedule, staggers patient appointments, requires extensive infection control training for our staff and providers, and regularly screens staff and patients for symptoms or possible exposure. Once you arrive, we will provide you with a mask and sanitizer for your safety.

My Approach

One of the reasons why I became an OB/GYN is because I am passionate about helping my patients achieve wellness. As a gynecologist, I treat patients with female reproductive organs (regardless of their gender identification) and provide a full-range of services, including but not limited to the following:

  • Annual gynecologic exams

  • Cervical cancer screening, including management of abnormal Pap smears

  • Sexually transmitted infections and pelvic inflammatory disease

  • Vaginitis (e.g. yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis)

  • Contraception and sterilization services (including Nexplanon and intrauterine device (IUD) placement and removal)

  • Family planning

  • Initial evaluation and treatment of infertility

  • Recurrent pregnancy loss

  • Preconception counseling

  • Management of uterine fibroids and endometriosis

  • Urinary issues including urinary tract infections (UTI), incontinence and prolapse

  • Award-winning surgical expertise:

    • Hysteroscopy

    • Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)

    • Surgical management of benign conditions of the reproductive tract (e.g. ovarian cyst removal, fibroids, endometriosis, etc.)

    • Gender-affirming surgery

    • Minimally-invasive surgery and traditional open surgery

Robotic Surgery at Stanford

While traditional open abdominal surgery still has its role, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) using small ports for the camera and surgical instruments have now become the norm because of lower rates of infection and complications, reduced blood loss, decreased pain, and faster recovery times. There are two ways to perform minimally-invasive surgery: 1) conventional laparoscopy 2) robotic-assisted laparoscopy.

While I offer both forms of MIS, I specialize in robotic surgery in order to provide advanced, cutting-edge surgical treatment of gynecologic diseases for my patients. Robotic surgery allows surgeons to operate using 3-D images of the surgical field. The instrument tips move like a human wrist, which allows for better control and precision while operating. I am currently the only physician at Menlo Medical who performs robotic surgery, and one of the few generalist OB/GYN robotic surgeons at Stanford Hospital.

Patient Experiences

“My experience with Dr. Young-Lin was nothing but positive and I would give her 10 out of 10 if I could! I was lucky enough for her to perform robotic surgery to remove a uterine fibroid I had that was impacting my daily activities. I healed perfectly and did not experience any complications; she really is an expert in her craft. You are in very good hands when you have Dr. Young-Lin taking care of you!”

— Trina

“Most people would say that they do not enjoy going to the doctor, but I look forward to each and every clinic visit that I have with Dr. Young-Lin. Not only is she vastly knowledgeable given her remarkable academic pedigree for medical training, but she is also kindhearted, attentive to detail, and trustworthy. […] If you are looking for an Ob/Gyn who goes above and beyond for her patients given her commitment to thoughtful and effective patient care, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Young-Lin – she stands apart from the rest.”

"Being a patient of Dr. Young-Lin, particularly through my robotic surgery experience, has been nothing short of phenomenal. Dr. Young-Lin walked me through the entire process with ease and always made herself available to personally answer my questions in a very timely manner. She constantly checked on my well-being leading up to the surgery, as well as during and after the process. She even personally called me several times after leaving the hospital to make sure everything was healing properly. She is truly invested in her patients' health and takes the time to get to know them on an individual level to ensure quality and personalized care.”
